To the next level, like almost on steroids. What is called wellness states? Where did I get that from? And today we're going to come up with 28 ideas for you to do wellness dates, starting. Uh, wellness date is like a fit an artist date from the book, the artist way, and the artist's way is by Julia Cameron.

And I've got a link to the book in the show notes, but what is an artist date? Well, an artists. Is a weekly commitment to take yourself out and do something that interests and intrigues you. They are a window for inspiration, rejuvenation, and remembering how to play something. Most of us forget to do as.

An artist's date might involve taking a trip to the local art gallery to pursue at your leisure for a couple of hours. It might involve setting aside an afternoon to cut interesting words and phrases and pictures out of magazines and create a collage for the fun of it. And artists dates do not have to involve created dev endeavors.

In fact, it's better if they don't. As Julia Cameron creator of the artist's way. And the concept of artists dates explains the artist's date is a once-weekly festive, solo expedition to explore something that interests you. The artists date need not be overly artistic. They mischief more than mastery when choosing an artist date is good to ask yourself what sounds fun and then allow yourself to try.

Why and how artists dates work, artists dates are fun and a great opportunity to explore your career or a city, but I found other ways to make them useful. I incorporate them into perfectly fit with Kathy as fitness states or wellness states. They are a great for getting clarity on sticky situations and.

This happens because this is a window of time in which we are not obsessively thinking about whatever happens to be troubling us at the time. Also known as a mind screw artists dates can and will keep you out of your head and help foster the connection between you and your intention. Psychologists have a name for those times when we step back from a project and.

Problem and focus on something else unrelated for a while. It's called the incubation period. And this way artists dates also deepen our creativity. One definition of creativity is that it's making connections where per Perryville, honestly, there were none and certain contexts. This is also called problem solving.

Also known as unscrew your mind, how to create your own artists dates. Julia Cameron offers a few guidelines for artists dates. Number one, an artist date is a solo activity. A date with yourself, not an opportunity to hang out with friends, something fun to do with the kids or quality time with the significant other number two, an artist date last for at least two hours.

This might require advanced. Put an invisible wall around your artist's dates and treat them as you would an important meeting with yourself. Please note that many times for fitness, it will be less time than two hours. Number three, an artist date is a standalone activity, not something to combine with running errands, popping into the supermarket or other things on your to-do list.

Number four, an artist's date is most effective when done once per week, when life gets busy, this kind of activity can be the first to slide to the bottom of the priorities pile, but that does us more harm than good for maximum benefit. Make time for one artist state each week. How can we incorporate this into our wellness?

Now this can apply to your wellness because it also applies to mindset. Take pictures of things that can pertain to health and wellness as well. You can add that. Number 20, take a trip down. Memory lane returned to one of your favorite places from childhood walk around exercise. Notice the changes that may or may not have taken place.

Let me tell you something about doing this little, little trip right here. You may find something or have a memory that gets triggered into something that you used to enjoy doing as a child. And that is where creativity comes up. That's where you may come up with. Oh yeah. I used to like riding bicycles with my friends and, uh, and you may start riding a bicycle or something.

Otherwise, all we're left with later is vague sense of, I know there was something I wanted to remember. For quick inspiration. I recommend having one place to store all your ideas and making that place as easy to access as possible. I usually have my phone and our computer with me. So having a single way to collect ideas that syncs book between both of these places keeps me.

I use an app called notion to manage my to-dos and projects. It's kind of complicated, but I do keep most of my ideas about anything and everything here. And here's a bonus tip. Learn how to use notion as one of your artists dates. There are two tour tutorials on Pinterest and of course, YouTube. If you don't use to do or organization software, you can use something for free, like Evernote or carry around a few index cards if you'd rather stay offline.
