Where have I been? And today we're going to talk about that. And what has happened in the last couple of weeks or the beginning of February with stop the mind screen. You're listening to the stop, the mind screw podcast. I'm your host, Kathie Owen Certified Fitness Trainer and Life Coach since 2002 transforming lives in magic fashion teaching stop the mind screw process.

And today we're talking about a little curve I hit in the road and where I've been in the last couple of weeks.

I recently made the switch from Kajabi, my website provider to Squarespace. And today that's what we're going to be talking about. Why. And how I did it. Cause it was not easy.

Let's start with the why. Well, Kajabi is quite expensive. It's $199 a month. And it had all the bells and whistles. It had your email marketing, your course creation and also the blog.

But honestly, the expense was too much for me. I am a person who wants to create content, get it up there, and share what I know with the world. And I did some research and I found Squarespace. Is a much better option for blogging. It's got better SEO. You can easily add items like your social media content, your email sign-ups, your videos, and, and more to your blog posts and Kajabi.

Just wasn't doing that for my blog. And on the very first day of February. I sent an email and I had segmented this email to about 10 people in my audience because I knew that's all that really wanted it. And that email went to my entire list. Yeah. It kinda ticked me off. Why did that happen? Well, Kajabi, like I said is a very big platform.

It's got all the bells and whistles and every time I'm working on either a blog post or an email, if I've got this slow circle going on while it's updating everything. And so I had segmented my list and when it came time to go, I was absolutely sure it was just to those 10 people. But it went to my entire list and that's not what I wanted to happen.

I was so mad, but we know what reactivity does to us. So I was like, okay, I got to shift that mindset and stop the mind screw right now. So that day I lost about five subscribers and that's really not a big deal in it doesn't matter, but it did that to me. It was honestly unacceptable for $200 a month and what I do on that platform.

So I started thinking, okay, let's see how I switch. Let's see if I can go somewhere else. And I did some research. I found Squarespace to be excellent for what I want to offer, but I had over 150 blog posts and 50 plus pages and content that was in Kajabi that I had to switch over. And I was like, that's going to be a big job.

So to do that, you have so have to switch your, your pages so that. Exactly match your website thing. So I have also had to switch my domain name and while I record this, oh my gosh. I got to tell you, I was nervous about this because I was like, oh, I'm going to be going offline for a while. And I'm probably going to lose some viewers, which in the long run it'll pay off.

It'll pay off. I know it will. So that's why it took a week off on my podcast a little bit more than a week because I had to work on all of this. It took a lot of work, but I, I did it. And in the process right now, we're at. Where it's switching over. So right now it's not even online, but that's okay because in the long run it's gonna pay off.

And to be honest with you, I got ecstatic about this because I'm saving a ton of money that I can spend on other things that I would find more beneficial to my business for my job. All that kind of stuff. And it just is, it makes more sense. And so like, when stuff like that happens, when that email went out, I'm like, there's gotta be a good thing behind this.

And absolutely there was because that's was the straw that broke the camel's back. It was like, I had had enough. I'm like, that's enough, don't waste your money and time on something you don't even really need. And I really liked blogging on Squarespace too, because it's just, it just works so much better. It just is more my style.

All right. I have to throw this in here too, because this happened at the beginning of February. When I came to this realization that things needed to change. And at the very beginning of February, I had a tornado dream. I have tornado dreams as a warning that something's coming.

And usually that warning, this may sound scary, but what happens with tornado dreams is they are a symbol that yes, it's going to get chaotic and crazy and things may be a little out of whack. But honestly, at the end, you come through building things and making things new and coming back around chaos, proceeds the breakthrough.

That is what that tornado dreams always have meant for me. So I knew this was coming. But at the same time, I've got to say this too. As Joseph Rodrigues released the episode on his YouTube channel slash podcast, that, um, is. All about living the dream and being static on the journey and the destination, and that really hit home.

And that's exactly where I'm at. I'm ecstatic about what's going on. It's been a big process, but I see big things on the horizon. For example. I had a goal in quarter one to start writing my book, stop the mind screw, and that is going on as planned. And it will also give me more time to do that because I'm not going to be pushing out courses and things like that on Kajabi.

And I'm really pumped about that. That's where I feel comfortable. Writing and producing stuff like the podcast and things like that. And I am so excited about where this is headed and I'm glad you're on this journey with me. So don't worry. Transurfing on Tuesdays will still be coming to you as well as my Thursday life coaching episodes on stop the mind screw.

And that was just my brief little update about where I've been, what I've been doing. And I just wanted to let you know, all right,

That's my episode for today. I hope you liked it. If you know someone who can benefit from this, be sure to share it with them. And until next time, I'll see you next time. Peace out and namaste!
